17 Goals to Transform Our World
The Sustainable Development Goals are a call for action by all countries – poor, rich and middle-income – to promote prosperity while protecting the planet. They recognize that ending poverty must go hand-in-hand with strategies that build economic growth and address a range of social needs including education, health, social protection, and job opportunities, while tackling climate change and environmental protection. More important than ever, the goals provide a critical framework for COVID-19 recovery.
At Chattelhouse Health and Beauty Inc we recognize our role as a part of the global community. Our commitment to creating a healthier and cleaner world for our children and the next generation is paramount.
These are the concrete actions we’ve taken to align ourselves with the United Nations Sustainability Development Goals:
Goal 3: Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages
Target 3.9 By 2030, substantially reduce the number of deaths and illnesses from hazardous chemicals and air, water and soil pollution and contamination.
We produce 100% all natural products. Our passion for a clean and healthy alternative for skin and body care is our number 1 priority. The skin is the largest organ on our bodies, by reducing the amount of chemicals it is exposed to we directly reduce the amount of chemical contamination a person may experience.
GOAL 7
Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy
Target 7.1 By 2030, ensure universal access to affordable, reliable and modern energy services
We have chosen to occupy a building for our operations that Is LEED certified. LEED®, or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, is the most widely-used green building rating system in the world. In Canada and around the world, LEED is a proven and holistic path to addressing climate change, and to creating buildings that are more resource-efficient, healthy and resilient, that reduce carbon emissions, save water, conserve energy and reduce waste.
Goal 11: Make cities inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable
Target 11.6 By 2030, reduce the adverse per capita environmental impact of cities, including by paying special attention to air quality and municipal and other waste management
We package our products in glass containers that can be then reused by our customers, which will directly reduce waste in our landfills and help to improve waste management.
Goal 12: Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns
Target 12.2 By 2030, achieve the sustainable management and efficient use of natural resources
We employee small batch handcrafted production to ensure zero waste of our raw materials.
Target 12.5 By 2030, substantially reduce waste generation through prevention, reduction, recycling and reuse
We employ the use of reuse and recycling practises in all available aspects of our operations.
Goal 17: Revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development
Target 17.11 Significantly increase the exports of developing countries, in particular with a view to doubling the least developed countries’ share of global exports by 2020
We chose sustainable raw ingredients from developing countries that are not only healthy nourishing ingredients for skincare, but also support the exporting economy of developing countries. For example we use butters sourced from Ghana, and oils sourced from Chile and Peru.
